Seafair

The Bite of Seattle The Bite of Seattle is an annual food festival that takes place over three days in July at Seattle, Washington, USA's Seattle Center.

Founded by Alan Silverman, the president of Festivals, Inc., the first festival was held in 1982 at Green Lake, with 25 restaurants participating and 75,000 in attendance. In 2003, there were 60 restaurants participating with over 450,000 visitors.

An estimated 400,000 people attended this year’s Bite of Seattle™ presented by Crystal Springs Water to enjoy a variety of good food and free entertainment. The Bite put the focus back to quality food and attendees responded to the message with enthusiasm!

The Bite of Seattle As always, restaurants took center stage at this year’s Bite. With an overwhelming selection of food to choose from, a panel of six judges critiqued each food vendor looking for the best of the Bite. First time participant and newest Tom Douglas Restaurant, Lola, was awarded Best Entrée for their Greek Salad with Shrimp. Southern Kitchen took second place with their Crawfish Gumbo and Ascada Bistro placed third serving their Gorgonzola Beef Tenderloin. Longtime Bite of Seattle favorite Catfish Corner was honored with the Best “Take A Walk on the Wild Side” for their Hushpuppies. Best BBQ was awarded to Jones Barbecue for a fourth year for their Rib Tips Basket. New event to the Bite this year, Amazing Thailand, won Best Booth Design for their Thai decorations and festive booth decor. Best Dessert went to Southern Kitchen for their Blackberry Cobbler.
